Our car for your road test
City Driving School offers road test preparation Edmonton drivers can book in two ways, including the use of our car on test day. We have taught here since 2009. For $90 plus GST, our car is at the registry for your test. Or book Car Use with Training, one hour in our car with an instructor before your test, $150 plus GST.
Many people book a test and then find the family car is not free that day. Others would rather not test in a vehicle they barely know. Think of this as car rental for road test day, with a driving school behind it. City Driving School provides a road test car so the vehicle is one less thing to arrange.

What is included
We offer a car for road test Edmonton drivers can book in two ways. Both come with the same school behind them.
- Car Use for Road Test, $90 plus GST. Our car at the registry for your test.
- Car Use with Training, $150 plus GST. One hour in our car with an Alberta Transportation certified instructor before your test, with free pickup and drop-off inside our service areas. Our instructors are men and women.

Prices
All prices plus 5% GST. These two prices are the same in every zone.
Zone A is Edmonton South and Beaumont. Zone B is Edmonton Downtown and Edmonton North. Zone C is Sherwood Park. We also have pages for Mill Woods and West Edmonton.

How to book
Your details. On the booking page, enter your name, email, phone, address, gender and Class 7 licence number.
Pick your area. Choose from Edmonton South, Beaumont, Edmonton Downtown, Edmonton North or Sherwood Park.
Pick your course. Select Car Use for Road Test, or Car Use with Training if you want the practice hour.
Pay and confirm. Pay online by PayPal or choose to pay at the office, then agree to the terms. You get a confirmation email, and office payers see payment pending until they pay. If you booked the training hour, pickup inside our service areas is free.

Do driving schools provide cars for a road test?
Yes. Car Use for Road Test puts our car at the registry for your test, $90 plus GST, the same in every zone. All road test preparation Edmonton bookings use our car, so you never need your own.
How can I practise driving without a car?
Book Car Use with Training, one hour in our car with an instructor before your test, $150 plus GST. Free pickup and drop-off comes with the training hour inside our service areas. Bring your Class 7 licence to every lesson, because a missing licence means lost hours.
How long are your in-car lessons?
Car Use with Training is one hour. A Brush-Up lesson is two hours in our car, minimum two hours, from $120 plus GST. Class 5 drivers who want more time can book 6 Hour on Road Training, from $360 plus GST.
Who teaches the practice hour before my road test?
Our instructors, men and women, are certified by Alberta Transportation. Ask for a female instructor when you book.
How does driving school work when I only need the car?
Book in five steps on the booking page or call (780) 965-1151, then pay by PayPal or at the office. Give 24 hours notice to cancel or the charge is $100, and there is no refund once training starts. Full details are on our terms page.
How much does driving school cost?
Full courses for Class 7 learners start at $545 plus GST in Zone A. If you only need a car on test day, it is $90 plus GST in every zone. See the full course list.
