Central Edmonton driving lessons, Zone B
City Driving School has been a driving school downtown Edmonton since 2009. We are approved by Alberta Transportation, and more than 6,000 students have passed with us.
This page covers the core of the city, and every community on it is in our Zone B price area. West Edmonton is also Zone B and has its own driving school West Edmonton page.
Every in-car lesson comes with free pickup and drop-off inside our service areas. You do not need to travel to our office at 2915 Ellwood Drive SW. Your instructor comes to you.

How to book
Your details. Enter your name, email, phone, address, gender and Class 7 licence number on the booking page.
Area and course. Pick Edmonton Downtown as your area, then choose your course from the prices above.
Payment. Pay online by PayPal or choose to pay at the office. Office payers see payment pending.
First lesson. Agree to the terms and you get a confirmation email. Your first in-car lesson starts with a free pickup at your address, and your instructor drops you off after.
Bring your Class 7 licence to every lesson. A missing licence means lost hours.

Yes. Every in-car lesson at City Driving School is in the school's car, and your instructor picks you up at your address. Pickup and drop-off are free inside our service areas, which include Downtown, Old Strathcona, Whyte Avenue and Capilano.
How much is driving school in Edmonton?
Prices depend on your zone, and Downtown Edmonton is Zone B. The Full Course is $595 plus GST, the Brush-Up is $120 plus GST and the Defensive Driving Course is $150 plus GST. The full Zone B list is above.
How long are driving lessons?
The Full Course has 15 hours of in-class theory and 10 hours in the car. The Extended Full Course has 15 hours in the car and the Value For Money course has 18. A Brush-Up is two hours in the car, and the 6 Hour on Road Training is for Class 5 drivers.
Can you take driving school online?
The theory part, yes. Full Course Online is $645 plus GST in Zone B, with the 15 hours of theory online and the 10 in-car hours in person. Extended and Value For Money courses also have online versions, listed on the Courses page.
