City Driving School Ltd runs this website and the booking and contact forms on it. This policy explains what personal information we collect and why. It also says who handles it, how long we keep it and how to ask about it. We have kept the wording simple so you can read it in a few minutes.
Who we are
City Driving School Ltd is an Alberta Transportation approved driving school in Edmonton, Alberta. Our office is at 2915 Ellwood Drive SW, Edmonton, AB T6X 1N4, and we see visitors by appointment. We are the business responsible for the personal information described on this page.
What we collect
When you use the booking form or the contact form, we ask for:
- your name
- your email address
- your phone number
- your address
- your gender
- your date of birth
- your Class 7 licence number
- your Class 7 licence expiry date
- your message, if you write one
We ask for your Class 7 licence number when you book. Bring your Class 7 licence to every lesson.
Why we collect it
Booking your course. We use your name, email and phone number to confirm your booking and to reach you about lesson times.
Arranging your lessons. We use your details to arrange your lessons and to keep the student records we hold for two years, as Alberta Transportation requires.
Answering your questions. If you write to us through the contact form, we use your details to reply.
Payments through PayPal
When you pay online, PayPal handles the payment. Your card details go straight to PayPal. City Driving School never sees or stores your card number. PayPal has its own privacy policy, and it applies to the payment step.
If you choose to pay at the office, no payment details are collected on this website. Your booking shows as payment pending until you pay.
The chat on this website
If you use the chat, we keep what you type for 30 days, then delete it. The chat's replies are written by an AI service outside Canada, so what you type is sent to that service. If you leave your name and phone number for a call back, our office gets them by email together with the chat so far, and we keep that email for two years like the details from our forms. Please do not type card numbers in the chat. If you choose WhatsApp or Messenger instead, Meta's own privacy policy applies.
Emails we send
When you book or use the contact form, an email service sends our emails to you and to our office. When you leave your number in the chat, it sends one to our office. These emails hold the details you gave us. The email service is outside Canada and handles them to deliver the emails.
Cookies and analytics
This website uses cookies from Google Analytics, Google Ads and Google Maps.
Google Analytics tells us how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed and for how long. It helps us make the site easier to use.
Google Ads cookies help us measure whether our advertising brings people to the site.
Google Maps shows the map on our Contact page. Google may set its own cookies when the map loads.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
How long we keep your information
We keep student records and personal information for two years, as Alberta Transportation requires. After two years we destroy them securely. This applies to booking details, contact form messages and the records we keep for your course.
How to ask about your data
If you have a question about the personal information we hold about you, email info@citydrivingschoolltd.ca with your name and your question. You can also call (780) 965-1151 or (780) 469-1152 any day between 7:30 am and 8:00 pm. Planning to visit our office? Please call ahead to book a time. We see visitors by appointment, so we can give you our full attention.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows the latest version. If we make a major change, we will note it on this page.
